Job Vacancy - Allotment Officer

Ashington Town Council is seeking a dedicated Allotment Officer to join our team and support the Council in its statutory duty to provide allotments. We have 8 sites across Ashington with approximately 800 allotment plots that require oversight. You will be involved in tenancy management, inspecting plots, supporting associations, and finding solutions to improve our provision. Strong communication and relationship skills are essential.

Ashington Town Council fund Christmas cheer with grant to Wansbeck Christmas Campaign

Ashington Town Council has awarded a £500 grant to the Wansbeck Christmas Campaign in support of their efforts to provide gifts for struggling families across the Wansbeck area this festive season.

The grant was used to shop for gifts from the campaign’s Christmas list at the B&M store on Freeman Way. Store employees Michael and Kelly provided first class assistance in the shopping effort and were full of Christmas cheer. The purchased gifts were delivered directly to volunteer Vicky, ready for sorting and distributing mid-December.
