Summer Fun Awaits in Ashington and Northumberland
As the school year comes to a close, many families are wondering how to keep their children entertained during the long summer break. Fortunately, Ashington and Northumberland has a wealth of activities on offer to suit all ages and interests.
Looking for something to do through the Summer Holidays? Here are just some of the activities going on across Northumberland.
Including the return of the Hirst Welfare Family Fun Day and Walking Football Festival, supported by Ashington Town Council and the Pride Picnic in Hirst Park, this year being organised by Ashington Town Council and Pride Action North.
For history buffs, Northumberland's ancient castles, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Bamburgh Castle, are hosting special summer events and interactive exhibitions. Meanwhile, museums across the region are offering hands-on workshops for children to learn about local heritage and wildlife.
Local libraries are running summer reading challenges, while community centers have organised arts and crafts workshops, and sports camps.
With so much variety, there's no excuse for boredom this summer in Northumberland. We encourage both residents and visitors to explore all our beautiful county has to offer.
