Ashington Town Council urges members of the community and residents to attend the upcoming Ashington Regeneration Programme Drop-In events to find out the plans for Ashington’s future and share their views.
Northumberland County Council will host two drop-in sessions this month for residents and businesses to explore the proposed plans for the town centre.
Event Dates: Saturday 18th May from 10am to 1pm AND Wednesday 22nd May from 4pm to 7pm. Both sessions will be held in the Arts Room at YMCA, North View.
Attendees can interact with County Council officers, Advance Northumberland representatives, and the project design consultants to discuss details on Wansbeck Square, Portland Park’s upcoming cinema and restaurants, and the Grand Corner development.

Ashington Town Council is taking major strides in climate action and protecting local wildlife and habitats through several new initiatives announced at their Climate Change and Environment Committee meeting last night.

Ashington Town Council has invested £180,000 over five years to significantly upgrade CCTV coverage with powerful new cameras on Station Road, Woodhorn Road, and Station Road West.
“This boost to community safety underscores the Council’s priority and commitment to improving the environment by providing a pleasant and safe place to live,” said Cllr John Tully, Leader of Ashington Town Council.
The project features cutting-edge technology including 24/7 monitored pan-tilt-zoom cameras providing comprehensive visibility of the area. Local contractor Asset Watch has been selected to deploy the high-tech system, cementing this initiative as a community partnership supporting local jobs.
