Mark your calendars! The highly anticipated Northumberland Miners’ Picnic is making a grand comeback at the Woodhorn Museum on Saturday, 8th June, 2024.

The Ashington Male Voice Choir held their annual concert this past Saturday, May 18th at the Holy Sepulchre Church. The prestigious event was attended by the Civic Head of Ashington, Cllr Victor Bridges.

As St George’s day has come and gone, and the St George’s day parade was a huge success with hundreds turning up on Ashington main street, we have had some of the local shops decorate their windows in celebration for the patron saint of England.

5 FUSILIERS will celebrate St George’s Day 2024 whilst also exercising their freedom of Northumberland with a special church service and parade through the streets of Ashington on Saturday 20th April 2024.

What a historic and emotional day it was as I witnessed the Royal Navy officially hand over the ship’s bell and other artefacts from HMS Blyth to Blyth Town Council.

A special train journey, along the new Northumberland passenger rail line, took place today (21st February 2024).

The Civic Head, Cllr Victor Bridges was delighted to be invited to the recent Volunteer Celebration Night at the Ashington Veterans and Elders Institute. It was a pleasure for the Civic Head to attend along with his wife for a night of games and entertainment.
