Ashington Town Council Publishes 2023/24 Annual Report

Ashington Town Council has published an Annual Report for 2023/24, detailing progress made across its core priorities of keeping the town clean, taking climate action, supporting the community, and improving the environment.

The report highlights accomplishments such as new sustainable planting initiatives, upgrades to play areas and public spaces, and grant funding provided to local organisations. However, it also acknowledges ongoing challenges in areas like combating littering and fly-tipping.

Council Leader John Tully stated, "While we've made strides in many areas, figures show a concerning rise in fly-tipping and littering that we must continue to address through campaigns, enforcement and working with residents."

The financial overview demonstrates the Council's prudent resource management to deliver community priorities.

The full report is available by clicking on the link below, with printed copies being distributed to local community spaces over the next couple of weeks.

This annual report is a low-resolution in-house publication aimed at providing information to residents in a cost-effective manner, rather than a glossy promotional brochure. In line with public sector equality duty, the Council aims for accessible information. Residents requiring the report in alternate formats should contact the office.

The new Council year will commence with the first meeting, the Annual Meeting of the Council, being held on Tuesday 28th May, at 6:00pm. Click on the link below to view the agenda and papers.
