Repurposeful CIC Small Grant Fund Success
Vicky Morgan, Director of Repurposeful, was delighted to come to collect a grant cheque from Ashington Town Council for £500, presented by the Civic Head of Ashington, Cllr Victor Bridges.
Repurposeful CIC is a new social enterprise that aims to make a positive difference to our community and environment. They will reduce waste by repurposing reusable materials that would otherwise go to landfill. Their services will include providing a pop-up Scrapstore service that collects reusable resources from local businesses and redistributes them to our local community - especially to charities, community organisations, and schools - for use in creative repurposing, such as arts, crafts, and technology projects.
Repurposeful will also provide supported volunteering opportunities, and will reuse materials to create activity boxes for people with additional needs, working in partnership with a range of people and organisations from our Ashington community.
Vicky is very grateful for the support of Ashington Town Council and residents, explaining that the grant will provide storage to allow Repurposeful to start collecting resources from businesses and providing the Scrapstore. We’ll be hearing more from Repurposeful as they start their services in Ashington.
