Redevelopment of Play Areas Complete on Orchid Meadows Estate

Ashington Town Council planned to redevelop the play areas within the Orchid Meadows Estate, at Epsom Drive and Aintree Close, the projects have been completed just in time for the school holiday period.

The Civic Head of Ashington, Cllr. Victor Bridges, and Haydon Ward Town Councillors joined local families and children at an official opening event on Saturday (29 July).

The play areas have been developed by play provider Kompan Ltd.  The Town Council chose Kompan’s Greenline range of play equipment, confirming the Council’s commitment to taking action to reduce the effects of climate change.  The Greenline range is made using recycled waste sources within the materials with a low carbon footprint.

The photographs include local children and families enjoying the new equipment with Councillors Victor Bridges (Civic Head) and Marjorie Chambers and John Tully.

Ice creams were provided by, Ashington based, Tommy’s Soft Ices and were enjoyed by all.
