There has been a change to our listed activities for Station Road, unfortunately the dinosaur had double booked himself, but why not check out Hirst Welfare Family Fun Day on Saturday 12th August.
At the Welfare there is Walking Football, Soft Archery, Space Hopper Football, Axe Throwing, Inflatable Assault Course and that’s just outdoors, lots more activities indoors too, including a Community Group Showcase and children's activities with Ashington Family Hub.

Full Circle Food - Summer Activities for Kids
Hirst Park
Mondays 10am- 12pm at the Pavilion - weekly crafts drop-in. Open to all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult.
Thursdays 10th, 17th and 24th August - Northumberland Wildlife Trust will be delivering 6 sessions in the park, starting at the Full Circle Food:
- 10th August will be Brilliant Birds
- 17th will be Exploring Nature
- 24th will be Mindfulness in Nature
(the morning sessions will be the same as the afternoon sessions; 10-12 and 1-3).
All are free and all ages are welcome (no booking needed) but children must be accompanied by an adult.
Thursdays 27th July and 3rd and 10th of August at the Pavilion - Helix Arts are running their Real Voice singing sessions for ages 12-16. Booking details on poster attached.

Mortal Fools Youth Theatre presents: The Bigger Picture
The voices of 75 young people from Northumberland and the North East come together in a collection of short films, created by Mortal Fools Youth Theatre with film company Fly Girl Films and Mortal Fools’ associate artists.
Across 6 poignant and purposeful film shorts, you’re invited to see the world through Mortal Fools Youth Theatre’s eyes and feel what it’s like to grow up today.
Come along to one of our The Bigger Picture themed workshops with our Mortal Fools practitioners. You’ll watch the films together and then take part in some fun creative activities and enjoy drama games relating to the films.
Places are limited to 20 young people per workshop – workshops are FREE (donations welcome) but pre-bookable.

Woodhorn Museum - Summer Activities
This summer get set to discover Northumberland's stories with Museums Northumberland.
Our sites include some of the most important buildings in England – Berwick Museum and Art Gallery is housed in England’s first Barracks, Hexham Old Gaol is England’s oldest; Morpeth Chantry Bagpipe Museum is situated in a Medieval building and Woodhorn Museum is located in a scheduled ancient monument.
We have a jam-packed programme of activities for all the family, pay once and visit as many times over the next 12 months!

Every Wednesday of the Northumberland School Holidays, join our Learning Team and take part in these free, family friendly activities throughout the day.
Dates: Wednesday 26th July, 2nd August, 9th August, 16th August, 23rd August and 30th August
Drop In – no need to pre-book!
11am – 11.45am: Bug and Bloom Hunt
Go on a bug and bloom safari around Woodhorn and see what wildlife you can find. Our Learning team will help identify your discoveries. Please meet at the Pit Yard Play Area at 11am. In the event of very bad weather an alternative ‘Woodhorn Wildflowers’ craft activity will be provided.
12noon – 12.45pm: Bug Mask Making
Make your own bug mask and imagine life as a tiny insect! Our Learning Team will be on hand to help you create your mask. Drop-in craft activity taking place upstairs in the museum.
1.30pm – 2.15pm: Bug & Bloom Hunt
Go on a bug and bloom safari around Woodhorn and see what wildlife you can find. Our Learning team will help identify your discoveries. Please meet at the Pit Yard Play Area at 1.30pm. In the event of very bad weather an alternative ‘Woodhorn Wildflowers’ craft activity will be provided.
‘Wild Wednesdays‘ are free as part of our Annual Pass where adults pay once, and kids go free. Donations welcome. You can buy your Annual Pass admission online before your visit or when you arrive at the museum. Please arrive in plenty of time so you don’t miss the start of the activity.
‘Banner and Branches’ invites you to create part of a Miners’ Banner using simple paper art techniques. You could choose a scroll, a circular emblem or decorative foliage. Add your own words, drawings or decorations to your paper art to share what is important to you about your environment.
Help us fill the gallery with your creative contributions and don’t forget to take your picture in a beautiful 3-D paper banner sculpture created by artist Bethan Maddocks!

YMCA Northumberland - Summer Youth Club
Our FREE Summer Youth Club has a range of exciting activities for young people aged 8-12 to try new things and make the most of their holidays!
Every Monday and Tuesday throughout the
holidays at YMCA Northumberland young people will get the chance to:
Meet people and make new friends in a safe space with lots of fun and relaxing games to help us get to know each other.
Get moving with a range of sports and team games and come along to our sports day!
Unleash your creativity with our arts and crafts activities, including model making, biscuit decorating and much more!
Enjoy a tasty, hot and homecooked lunch made by our youth workers.
Get competitive and take part in our adventurous summer-themed treasure hunt.
Share your ideas with our friendly youth workers and get your voice heard.
Join us for our end-of-summer party where we will celebrate with delicious food and music and the chance to share all our favourite memories from the summer.
These sessions are part of the government-funded Holiday activity and food programme, open to young people who receive free school meals.
