Ashington Sea Cadets Funding Success

Ashington Sea Cadets Funding Success

The Civic Head, Cllr Victor Bridges was delighted to be presenting a cheque to Ashington Sea Cadets for £500.

The Cadets applied to Ashington Town Council's Small Grant Fund in May, and Councillors agreed the £500 to go toward a laptop and tablets for e-learning as well as uploading documents to Westminster. They are aiming to build up a supply of tablets so that each cadet can complete courses without the need to print off onto paper.

Ashington Sea Cadets the aim is to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through various activities and adventures, they will learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of themselves. Cadets will participate on and off the water.
