Important Changes to Winter Fuel Payments – What You Need to Know

On 29th July, the Chancellor announced changes to the Winter Fuel Payment (WFP). This annual one-off payment was introduced in 1997 to help pensioners cover heating costs during winter, providing up to £300 depending on your age and living situation.

However, under the new rules, only those receiving Pension Credit or other means-tested benefits will be eligible for the WFP.
