Ashington residents are in for a treat this August as the Tuesday Market on Station Road transforms into a hub of summer activities for all ages. The town council has announced an exciting lineup of events that promise to bring life and entertainment to the heart of the community.
Starting 6th August, the Northumberland Wildlife Trust will kick off the festivities with a nature-themed day. From 10 am to 2 pm, visitors can participate in a consultation about local green spaces and enjoy a hands-on activity where children can make paper pots and plant seeds to take home.
The following week, on 13th August, Mortals Fools will take centre stage, offering fun creative crafts for market-goers from 10 am to 2 pm. This event is sure to spark imagination and creativity among attendees of all ages.
The excitement continues on 20th August with BREAK NE bringing their high-energy break-dancing sessions to Station Road. Children aged 7 and above can join in the action at three different time slots: 11 am, 12 pm, and 1 pm, each session lasting 45 minutes.
While the entertainment for August 27th remains a mystery, the town council promises it will be worth the wait, encouraging residents to “watch this space” for upcoming announcements.
These summer activities are part of the regular Tuesday Market, which runs from 9am each week. The initiative aims to bring the community together and offer engaging experiences for families during the school holidays.
