YMCA Northumberland's Young Pioneer Programme is offering funded places for in-person training courses in late September and October 2024. These courses will take place at YMCA Northumberland, North View, Ashington, NE63 9XQ.

LGBTQIA+ Awareness
- Date: Wednesday, 25th September 2024
- Time: 5-8pm
- Delivered by: Pride Action North
- Description: This session promotes diversity, inclusivity, and acceptance to create a safe and equitable environment for all individuals, regardless of their race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic that may set them apart.
Drug and Alcohol Awareness
- Date: Wednesday, 2nd October 2024
- Time: 5-8pm
- Delivered by: SORTED, Northumberland County Council's substance misuse service
- Description: This session provides an opportunity to learn about and discuss issues related to drugs and alcohol.
Suicide Prevention Explore Ask Keep Safe (SPEAK)
- Date: Wednesday, 9th October 2024
- Time: 5-8:30pm
- Delivered by: PAPYRUS
- Description: This 3.5-hour CPD Accredited session introduces suicide prevention skills. PAPYRUS is a charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people.
Neurodiversity Awareness
- Date: Wednesday, 23rd October 2024
- Time: 5-8pm
- Delivered by: Joanne Vance of New Beginnings North
- Description: This session introduces the challenges faced by those with neuro-differences and how to support them as they navigate complex barriers to re-engaging with education, employment, and training.
