Celebrating Identity, Embracing Possibility

Celebrating Identity, Embracing Possibility

Figuring it out and fitting in; what makes you, you?

Flux is a positive and empowering film, grounded in the reality of life of young people exploring their identity and making decisions about their future.

12 unique young voices come together on film, to explore what it means to question your identity in a world that feels determined to put you in a box. Devised and performed by the young people living through this reality right now, join them in discovering that there is freedom in the flux - and that labels are for bottles, not people.

Flux 2022 was a contemporary theatre show, devised and performed by Mortal Fools Ensemble Young Company. A filmed version is available now for all to watch– it’s free but donations welcome.

Northumberland young people co-created the theatre show and the film - it includes voices of Tyne Valley and Ashington young people.

If you’re a community group leader, teacher, young people’s facilitator or someone who works with teenagers – Mortal Fools have created a Flux screening resource so folks can host a screening of the film in a setting and there is a downloadable resource pack too, so in addition to watching the film, folks can facilitate discussion and activities, in order to explore the film themes and characters further!

To access the film and resource pack (both free - donations welcome) - follow the link: www.mortalfools.org.uk/flux-digital
