Ashington Veterans & Elders Welcome Civic Head
Cllr Victor Bridges, Civic Head of Ashington was delighted to visit Ashington Veterans and Elders Institute to present a cheque for £500.
Volunteer gardeners downed tools for a few minutes to show Cllr Bridges around the excellent Community Garden they have created.
The Institute were successful in applying for funding from Ashington Town Council Small Grant Scheme.
The funding will go towards the purchase of two external speakers to their PA system so that people enjoying the garden can listen to music at the same time.
Members expressed their gratitude to the council for their continued support as it allows them to keep upgrading the institute and attract more users.
