Brass Band Funding Success
The Civic Head was delighted to attend Jayness Newbiggin Brass Bands rehearsal at Dukes Primary School last Thursday night to present a cheque for £500.
In March 2023, the Jayness Newbiggin Brass Band qualified for the National Finals in Cheltenham for the second year running. The Band applied to Ashington Town Council's small grant fund to help with the cost of a hotel room for the two members of the Band who reside in Ashington.
The band is currently made up of 25 members, with an age range of 13 - 70+. We are an inclusive and diverse band who strive to support our members whatever their personal circumstances, and our standing within the local community is one of support and positivity, which is an ethos we are keen to maintain.
