Ashington Town Council is one of the largest town councils in Northumberland, with 18 elected Councillors across six wards, a budget exceeding £1.2 million, and a small but dedicated team delivering real impact for the communities of Ashington. Engaging with students and sharing community opportunities

Ashington Town Council joined local organisations at Dukes Academy on 28th January for a community roadshow designed to help young people discover the services and opportunities available to them.

The event, organised by Carla Thompson from Northumberland County Council’s Locality Team and Danielle Towers from Dukes Academy, brought together organisations including the NCC Community Safety Team, YMCA, Rape Crisis, Newcastle United Foundation, Pride Action Northumberland, Bernicia, NCC Sports Development Team, Beyond Youth, Koast Radio, Health Trainers and more. 

Ashington Town Council, Finance & General Services Committee Meeting meeting is being held on Tuesday 10th February, starting at 6:00pm. The meeting is held in the Town Hall, Council Chamber, 65 Station Road, Ashington, NE63 8RX.

Ashington Town Council has approved its budget for 2026/27, delivering an ambitious programme of community services and improvements for a modest increase of just 21 pence per month for the majority of Band A households, and 32 pence per month for Band D properties.

Ashington Town Council is pleased to share that work is now underway to create an exciting new play area at North Seaton Colliery, off Links View. The old play equipment is being removed to make way for the new development, which will transform the site into a modern, accessible, and engaging space for children and families.
