Ashington Town Council has approved its budget for 2026/27, delivering an ambitious programme of community services and improvements for a modest increase of just 21 pence per month for the majority of Band A households, and 32 pence per month for Band D properties.

Following the Hirst Ward By-Election held on Thursday 18th December, Ashington Town Council is pleased to share the official Declaration of Result, with Jessica Appleby and Melanie Fox duly elected to serve as Town Councillors for Hirst Ward.

As we gather with family and friends this Christmas and look ahead to 2026, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has truly been an extraordinary year for our town. 2025 has been a year of celebration, community spirit, and remarkable progress – and it is you, the people of Ashington, who have made it so special.
