Event Details

Stepping into the gym for the first time can feel overwhelming. The equipment looks complex, everyone seems to know what they’re doing, and it’s easy to feel out of place. That’s why Ashington Town Council and Sculpt Gym in Ashington are working together to offer free, specially designed sessions for 16–18-year-olds.

Free Gym Session Details

Dates: Tuesday 25th February, 1pm-2pm
Dates: Thursday 27th February, 1pm-2pm
Location: Sculpt Gym Ashington
Age: 16 to 18 year olds

Experienced trainers at Sculpt Gym understand the challenges of starting a fitness journey. This session isn’t about intense workouts or competition—it’s about creating a supportive, judgment-free environment where young people can:

  • Build Confidence: Learn to feel comfortable in a gym setting
  • Learn Proper Techniques: Understand correct exercise form to prevent injury
  • Explore Personal Fitness: Discover enjoyable ways to stay active

Cllr Caroline Ball comments, “I’m proud to support initiatives that prioritise our youth’s physical and mental well-being. These free gym sessions are more than just an exercise opportunity—it’s about building confidence, promoting healthy habits, and creating a supportive environment where young people can discover their potential.

Our council believes in empowering the next generation, and programmes like these are a critical step in helping our teenagers develop lifelong fitness skills. By removing barriers and creating a welcoming space, we hope to inspire more young people to take an active interest in their health”.

Whether your goal is to improve strength, boost self-esteem, or simply try something new, these sessions provide a low-pressure opportunity to explore fitness.

No need to book just turn up on the day to start your fitness journey! Free protein bar for everyone who attends.
