Ashington Christmas Trail Returns to Spread Holiday Cheer
Ashington’s beloved Christmas Trail is back again this holiday season, kicking off at the town’s Christmas Light Switch-On event on Thursday, November 30th.
Presented by Ashington Town Council, the festive trail invites children to explore 20 decorated shops across Station Road, Lintonville Terrace, Laburnum Terrace, and Woodhorn Road. Kids can pick up sticker cards from any participating location, then visit each spot to complete their card.
Once they’ve gathered all the stickers, children can bring their finished cards to Ashington Library on Saturday, December 16th from 9:30am to 1pm to claim fun prizes!
This engaging activity encourages children to discover local businesses while being rewarded for their holiday spirit. Last year’s Christmas Trail was a huge hit with families.
Mark Purvis, Ashington Town Councillor, shares: “We’re excited to once again spread cheer across our community with the Christmas Trail. Kids will have a blast exploring the festive storefronts and completing their sticker cards. It’s a great way for little ones to get into the holiday spirit while connecting with local shops.”
With the trail launching at the Light Switch-On, children can make lanterns, visit Santa, enjoy live music, and then kickstart their Christmas quest. Pick up your sticker card at participating retailers along Station Road, Lintonville Terrace, Laburnum Terrace and Woodhorn Road beginning November 30th!
