My name is Eleanor Armstrong and I began my working life at Hepworth's in Ashington.
In my career I have also worked for the National Health Service, within the community, and for the last 15 years I have worked for UNISON within the Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust. My role involves listening to people and working to get issues resolved and it is these skills that I would like to bring to my role as a Town Councillor.
My family history in Ashington goes back to when my Great Grandfather came to the town for work and helped build the ‘Colliery Rows’.
Ashington and its community mean a great deal to me and as a member of the Labour Party it is an honour to be chosen to represent the people of the Central Ward as a Town Councillor and help with local issues and concerns.
