Climate Change & Environmental Committee Meeting
Ashington Town Council will hold its Climate Change & Environment Committee meeting on Tuesday, April 30th at 5:30pm in the Council Chamber.
All members of the public are welcome to attend.
Key items on the agenda include:
- A proposal to lead the restoration of the Miners' Memorial Meadows in Ashington Community Woods, with a £3,000 seed fund from the Climate Change budget.
- An initiative to construct and install bird boxes throughout Ashington's green spaces, as well as providing bird box kits for schools and community groups to assemble. Funding would come from the Climate Change budget.
Other routine items include approving previous meeting minutes, officer updates, and setting dates for future committee meetings. The public can submit questions on agenda items by 5pm on April 29th.
The meeting allows the Council to discuss environmental projects and priorities for protecting Ashington's natural spaces and promoting sustainability.
