Ashington Town Council held its monthly Finance and General Services Committee meeting last night. The meeting began with a moment of silence to mark the sad passing of Councillor Vicki Brown, and a tribute by Chair, Cllr Lynne Grimshaw.

As the warm days of spring approach, Ashington Town Council is taking a proactive stance to protect and nurture the insect populations that are essential to the local ecosystem.

Ashington Town Council commenced a programme of placing Speed Indicator Devices (SID) around the town, in 2018, following residents expressing concerns of drivers using excessive speed.

As spring approaches, Ashington Town Council is taking steps to protect and support the insect populations that are vital to the local ecosystem.

A further tree planting scheme has been completed in Ashington.

It has been declared by the Deputy Returning Officer for Northumberland County Council, that Paul Richard Wright was duly elected to the post of Councillor for the Central Ward of Ashington Town Council, following an election that took place on 7th March 2024.

Ashington Town Council is calling on all community members to join forces for the annual Great British Spring Clean, running March 15th through March 31st. This nationwide campaign organized by Keep Britain Tidy rallies volunteers to spruce up their neighbourhoods by tackling litter and plastic pollution.

Ashington Town Council met on Tuesday 13th February and agreed to award funding to three local community groups for their work to better the town. A total of £1,500 was granted from the council’s small grant fund.
