My name is Stephen Fenwick and I have lived in Ashington for most of my life and attended Ashington High School.

I served for six years in Her Majesty's Armed Forces before returning to the area to commence employment with Castle Morpeth Borough Council. I moved to Wansbeck District Council and then Northumberland County Council, following the forming of the single unitary authority in 2009, working in the Street Lighting Division.

For the past twenty years I have been a trade union activist and I am currently a member of the UNITE union holding the positions of Political Officer and Union Learning Representative.  I am currently working with Northumberland County Council to secure apprenticeships across the county for young people.

I am a member of the Labour Party, representing the Haydon Ward on the Town Council.  I am interested in the local environment and will be campaigning for cleaner footpaths, better road repairs and ensuring that our parks and open spaces are kept to a good standard.  I will address any concerns raised by residents and our local community groups and associations.
