The new contemporary dance programme from Eliot Smith comes to Newbiggin Maritime Centre with a triple bill including PITMAN based on Ashington's famous Pitman Painters.

The hugely popular PITMAN, returns with 'Dawn at Ashington' and 'Fish and Chips' including three new sections; 'The Miner', 'Progging the Mat' and 'The Xmas Tree'.

It tells the story of the miners and their community through dance interpretations of the paintings of the Pitmen Painters that are on permanent exhibition at Woodhorn Museum in Ashington.

The event will take place on Thursday 17 May at the iconic Newbiggin Maritime Centre, on Church Point in the town, commencing at 7.30pm. Tickets are now available from £9.50 to £12.50

In addition to PITMAN the triple bill features;

PORTRAITS OF COURAGE which is inspired by the genius and courage of four great Northerners; William Armstrong, George Stephenson, Grace Darling and Emily Wilding Davison.

MOONLIGHT depicts one couple's passion as they explore the strength of their growing love for each other under the moonlight in a vivid and powerful pas de deux, set to Luca D'Alberto's Screaming Silence.
