Northumberland College is welcoming back visitors to its campuses for the re-launch of its exciting in-person open events.
Prospective students will be able to tour the college’s state-of-the-art facilities and hear first-hand how the college transforms lives and supports young people and adults to achieve their career ambitions.
The technical, vocational and specialist land-based college will host a number of open events at its campuses at Kirkley Hall and Berwick and here in Ashington for school leavers and adults interested in studying vocational subjects, apprenticeships or part-time and short courses.
The in-person open events will adhere to strict safety measures in order to keep people safe. Visitors are asked to pre-register online prior to the event for a specific time slot so numbers can be restricted, to only bring one other person with them and to wear a face covering. In addition, there will be a one-way system in operation, social distancing in all areas of the college and rooms will be well-ventilated.
The college had previously been delivering its open events virtually, following the government’s lockdown restrictions last year, to ensure that prospective students could continue to plan their future.
Nigel Harrett, Principal of Northumberland College, said ‘We are delighted that our open events are returning to our campuses. Prospective students can once again explore everything the college has to offer and our specialist facilities at our wonderful campuses. We have safety measures in place and are looking forward to welcoming visitors in a safe and secure environment’.
During the open events, visitors can speak to the college’s expert teaching staff, find out about the extensive range of courses on offer, apply for a course and see the college’s specialist facilities.
An open event will take place at the Ashington campus on Wednesday 9 June, from 4.30pm till 6.30pm. The career-focused facilities at Ashington include a purpose-built STEM centre, health simulation hub and a wide range of fully equipped workshops, all linked to industry priority areas.
More information on the open events can be found at Northumberland College’s website below. People interested in attending any of the open events can also pre-register.
