Ashington Town Council Annual Grant Aid Now Open For Applications
Ashington Town Council is committed to promoting and protecting the quality of life for all who live, work, and visit our community. A key way we uphold this mission is by providing grant funding to local organisations that enrich our area through their services, facilities, and activities.
We have a long-standing tradition of supporting sports clubs, charities, and community groups with annual subsidies as well as offering smaller grants throughout the year. Today, we are excited to announce the launch of our Annual Grant Aid Funding process for the 2024/25 financial year.
As part of our commitment to promoting equality, we actively seek applications from a diverse range of applicants representing various communities and demographics within Ashington. We encourage organisations and initiatives that aim to address issues of inequality, discrimination, and social exclusion to apply for grant aid support.
Is Your Organisation Eligible? Our Annual Grant Aid Funding is intended for voluntary, non-profit organisations based in Ashington providing services to our residents. Eligible groups typically include:
- Sports clubs
- Play/youth groups
- Arts organisations
- Community Groups
- Charities assisting disadvantaged/vulnerable populations
Grant funds can cover both capital expenses (equipment, tools, etc.) and operating/revenue costs. Start-up funding for new organisations is also permitted. When evaluating applications, priority may be given to groups filling gaps in current community provisions.
To apply download the detailed guidelines and application form below. Applications must be received by Friday 10th May 2024. Groups requesting over £3,000 will be asked to give a presentation to the Council prior to formal decisions in June.

We are happy to answer any questions as you prepare your submission. We will support any group to achieve the required policies, in accordance with our work to promote Equality and Diversity, and in keeping with the Public Sector Equality Duty 2022. Presentations (if applicable) will take place after 13th May 2024 and decisions will be made at a council meeting in June.
