A meeting will take place to determine the future of the Ashington Branch of the Royal British Legion in October.
Sadly, the Ashington Royal British Legion Club, on North Seaton Road, has now closed. However, the Ashington Branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) is currently still active and a meeting will take place on Monday 4 October 2021, at 7.00pm, to determine its future role.
Mr Phil Rainger, Chair of the Ashington Branch of the RBL, is encouraging people to attend the meeting to ensure the Branch can continue its important work in the town. Mr Rainger said ‘Anyone can attend the meeting, whether a member of the British Legion or not, as we look to the future and hopefully continue the work of the Branch in the town. Many RBL branches across the UK are closing and sadly this will be the fate of the Ashington Branch if there is no support’.
The meeting will take place at the Ashington Word of Life Church (69-71 Station Road, Ashington, NE63 0AG) and will be chaired by Mr Mark Reynolds, Chair of the County RBL.
