The Northumberland Miners' Picnic 2017 will take place on Saturday 10 June.
The event will take place at Woodhorn Museum, just off the A189 in Ashington, from 10am till 5.00pm and promises to be another great occasion.
The event this year will have added poignancy as it is the 150th Anniversary of Ashington which is built on the coal mining industry.
Woodhorn Museum and Ashington Town Council are therefore delighted to announce that legendary north east folk-rock pioneers LINDISFARNE will be opening the main stage at 12noon.
During the day there will also be a performance of Pitman by the Eliot Smith Company, brass entertainment and Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra. The Miners' Memorial service will take place at 10.15am.
