Northumbrian Water would like to thank Ashington residents for welcoming them into the community and working together to save money, save energy, save water, prevent blockages, report leaks and get help where needed.

They offered every resident in Ashington the opportunity to sign up for a free home visit with a qualified plumber. Since launching in May, they have carried out water saving visits with 1,437 customers, fitted 8,569 water saving products which will save, on average, 19.6 litres of water per person and knock £18.13 off each household’s annual bill.

113 residents have signed up to Northumbrian Water’s Priority Services, meaning that they can receive a little extra support when needed. Over 1,800 residents have talked with Northumbrian Water’s Community Engagement Coordinator, Victoria Carr, when she’s been at local events.

While the free home visit scheme has now come to an end, Northumbrian Water are still here to help. This can include providing alternative formats of bills, registering a password for home visits, offering a translation service, support and advice when you’re struggling to pay your bill and help in the event of an interruption to your water supply.

With the festive season upon us, the team know that every penny counts so please get in touch if you need support or advice with your water bill.
