My name is Tom Wilson, I am 60 years old and have been married for 39 years and have a son.

I have recently retired from Northgate Hospital where I worked for 20 years having previously been a coal miner for over 20 years.  I was born and have lived in the Ashington Central Ward for most of my life.

I am a member of the Labour Party and have represented the Central Ward at both District and County level for the past 28 years, so I know the problems that local people face within the area.

Now that the A1 link road has been completed I will be focusing my efforts on the Ashington and Tyne rail link. These two project will hopefully attract much needed business and retail investment into the town. I am also looking forward to the continuing development of our town centre now that Station Road has re-opened to traffic.

I hold two surgeries a month for residents, please contact me for more information.
