My name is Lawrence Henderson and I have lived in Ashington all my life and was educated at Wansbeck and Bothal Schools.
I worked in the farming and coal industries and then spent almost 30 years at Ashington and Wansbeck Hospitals. Although now retired I am still active in in the Unison union. I am a member of the Bernicia Tenants Panel with the aim of improving the quality of social housing in the town.
I am a member of the Labour Party and proud to represent the Central Ward in the town having become a Town Councillor in 2009.
In my spare time I enjoy gardening and as well as having an interest in the history of the area.
