A community litter pick has been organised for Paddock Wood in North Seaton.

The event will take place on Saturday 28 April and anyone who would like to help is requested to meet at North Seaton Community Centre, on Manley View, at 10am.

The litter pick has been organised by Ashington Town Council, supported by Northumberland County Council, and is part of ongoing efforts to target and tackle litter which annoys and frustrates many residents in the town.

Paddock Wood is a fantastic green space with children’s play facilities including a skate park but suffers from the effects of litter and fly tipping.  A litter pick took place earlier this year, as part the 2018 Great British Spring Clean campaign, and this effort will look to further clean and tidy this area.

To tackle the litter problem Ashington Town Council has an on-going programme of placing litter bins around the town as well as funding an Environmental Officer to target fly tipping, dog fouling and those that continually persist in dropping litter.

If you want to get involved in the litter pick just come along on the day and equipment will be provided.
