Ashington's Holy Sepulchre Church celebrated its 130th year with a variety of events at the weekend (13-14 May).

The anniversary coincided with the 150th anniversary year of Ashington and the Church was open on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday evening there was a concert by the Ashington Male Voice Choir and on Sunday there was a well attended thanksgiving service.

The Rev Chris Goocock said 'On the evening of 30 January 1886 the Church held its first service. Since then the Church has been the centre of worship for several generations of Ashington families and we continue to be a thriving place of hope and peace and witness to God's love.'
